Rodica Albu, Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași, Romania

Rodica Albu, professor of English Language, Linguistics and Canadian Studies at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi, has mainly studied language in its social-cultural aspects. She is the author of Myth and Folk Elements in the Poetry of W. B. Yeats. A Romanian Perspective (1998), Inklings. Litera şi spiritul (2004), Irish Studies Reader (2004), Using English(es) (third edition 2005), Revise Your English. A Freshman’s Resource Book (2005), Terapii complementare. Glosar terminologic (2005), English in Canada. Representations of Language and Identity (2006), Canada anglofonă. Limbă şi identitate (2008). She has edited and coauthored Migrating Memories: Central Europe in Canada (2010) and co-authored Universităţile Europei medievale, vol. 1 (2010), Dictionary of English Discriminated Synonyms (2006, 2008) and other volumes. Her research projects were supported by national and international grants and awards. She was President of the Romanian Chapter of CEACS (2006-2012) and is currently the secretary of the CEACS Executive Committee.
